I will be getting married in the October and I know, being in Toronto, that it will probably be quite chilly on the big day. Do you recommend a particular material that will keep me warmer for this cooler time of the year?
There are many ways to stay warm for an October wedding. The first question you must ask yourself is, “What type of gown do I want to wear?”
If, for instance, you have your heart set on a strapless or sleeveless wedding gown, then you may want to consider wearing a tailored jacket, shawl, or cape that will accentuate the wedding dress. A wedding gown with a fuller petticoat will also keep your legs warmer as will an elegant pair of hosiery.
Keep in mind, with unpredictable Toronto weather, it is equally probable that your wedding day will be hot and sunny. Opt for a fabric with more flexibility such as satin, taffeta, and shantung which are quite popular all year long. Of course, if your dream wedding dress is made of a particular material (e.g. silk, lace, etc.), then you should fulfill your wishes!
